A rare contemporary photographic record of the First Battle of Shanghai (1932), documenting the Sino-Japanese conflict through images taken in the field by Chinese, Japanese, and British photographers. The album includes striking aerial views of Shanghai prior to the conflict, scenes of mobilization, refugee movements, active battle scenes, and the extensive destruction of the city.
